SILENT TREATMENT - Written by Carroll Bryant
Why won’t you talk to me?
You never want to talk to me
I think you’re scared of me
What are you afraid of?
You never say what’s on your
mind
I mean, what’s really on your
mind?
You blow me off almost every
time
When your world starts
crashing down
Why do you leave me all
alone?
Just standing in the silent
zone?
Sometimes I would die just to
hear a tone from your voice
Rather than to never hear
what you know that you wanna say
This silent treatment chills
my bones
You won’t even pick up the
phone
Even if you heard a dial tone
then you know
At least that would be some
kind of noise anyway
You communicate with your
eyes
Subtlety as you pass me by
Your grunt supplies me with
All the answers that I’m
looking for
Well, could you just paint a
sign?
You never really paint a sign
When everything’s out of
control
You act like everything is
fine
Why do you leave me all
alone?
Just standing in the silent
zone?
Sometimes I would die just to
hear a tone from your voice
Rather than to never hear
what you know that you wanna say
This silent treatment chills
my bones
You won’t even pick up the
phone
Even if you heard a dial tone
then you know
At least that would be some
kind of noise anyway
You won’t even snore for the
fact that you just want to make a point
You used to talk in your
sleep
Even that doesn’t seem to be
the case anymore
Then what’s it all for?
Just pack up your things and
walk out of the door
There’s your solution
Why won’t you talk to me?
You never want to talk to me
I think you’re scared of me
What are you afraid of?
Are you afraid that you still
feel the same
As you did the first day we
met and fell in love
What are you afraid of?
Just stop leaving me all
alone
And standing in the silent
zone
Sometimes I would die just to
hear a tone from your voice
Rather than to never hear
what you know that you wanna say
This silent treatment chills
my bones
You won’t even pick up the
phone
Even if you heard a dial tone
then you know
At least that would be some
kind of noise anyway
Why do you leave me all
alone?
Sitting here in my home
Waiting by the telephone
Just talk to me
Can‘t you see what this
silence is doing to me?
Tell me …. What are you
afraid of?
Just stop leaving me all
alone
